This is a regular seminar of the Theoretical Astrophysics Group, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Kyoto University. The purpose is to share information among members and to educate graduate students. Guests from outside the department or other universities are welcome. The seminar is held every Tuesday from 13:30 to 15:00.
For graduate students in the department, this seminar is an official course called “Theoretical Astrophysics Seminar.” It is a required course for master students and carries academic credit. Graduate students in the department are required to record their attendance.
The contents include presentations of recent papers or individual research topics. Speakers are expected to begin with an accessible introduction since the audience covers a wide range of research fields. A regular rotation is organized among faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students. Each person is usually assigned to give a presentation once or twice a year.
