Reduction Procedure of the Subaru-OHS |
---|
Benefits of Airglow Suppression |
---|
a) OH airglow in the J- and H-bands. b) Suppressed airglow by the OHS. c) The same image as b) (multiplied by 5). d) A HzRG spectrum taken without OHS (1200sec). e) The same object observed using OHS (800sec). f) 4-images combined. |
One dimensional airglow spectra taken with and without OHS. The rejection factor of the airglow-lines is 30 (H-band). The estimated gain of OHS is 1.1mag including the effect of read noise.

Reduction Procedure |
Raw image with a 1000sec exposure. вн |
вн Background subtraction for a pair of images. Flat fielding using a standard H-band flat image. Correction of residual dark and bias patterns. вн |
вн Correction of unexpected hot pixels and cosmic-ray events. вн |
вн Straightening of residual-airglow emission-lines along column pixels and subtraction by fitting to each column. вн |
вн Shift-and-add of all images. вн |
вн Correction of atmospheric absorption features and instrumental responses. вн |
