V503 Cyg: Very Short Supercycle

An outburst at 14.0mag was reported on May 2 by P. A. Dubovsky (vsnet-campaign-dn 2349). T. Kato commented that the well-known regular pattern of superoutbursts has been disturbed since the end of 2001 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2400). The long duration of this outburst indicates that it was a superoutburst (vsnet-campaign-dn 2416). The observation on May 21 by M. Simonsen (14.5mag) showed a possible rebrightening (vsnet-campaign-dn 2439).

A bright outburst (13.7mag) was reported on July 10 by J. Ripero (vsnet-campaign-dn 2627). The outburst was confirmed on July 11 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2630, 2632).  After fading of this outburst, a new superoutburst was detected on July 19. T. Kato noticed that the interval of the two successive superoutbursts breaks the shortest record of SU UMa stars except ER UMa stars (vsnet-campaign-dn 2655, 2656, 2657, 2658, 2664). J. Pietz reported a sequence of 0.1 mag humps and substructures on July 28 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2669, 2672, 2682, 2695, 2697).
