V2275 Cyg : Nova Cyg 2001 No. 2
A. Tago discovered a nova in Cygnus on August 18. K. Ayani
performed spectroscopy and confirmed its nova nature in an early
phase. The magnitude was 8.8mag when it was discovered and
then, the object brightened to 6.6mag
(vsnet-campaign-nova 431).
IAUC 7687 tells that K. Hatayama independently discovered this nova on
August 18.625
(vsnet-campaign-nova 443).
A. Takao reported it was still faint on August 17
(vsnet-campaign-nova 437).
P. Schmeer reported that there is r=18.8mag USNO star within 1"" of
the position of the nova
(vsnet-campaign-nova 432).
After passing the maximum, the nova started rapid decline, and then,
the fading speed has become gradual
(vsnet-campaign-nova 482).
M. Fujii performed spectroscopy on August 22 and reported that the
Balmer lines became more intensive. Based on the clear presence of Fe
II multiplets, Fujii concluded that the nova is a typical "Fe II-type"
nova
(vsnet-campaign-nova 490).
The decline rate became somewhat slower around September 6
(vsnet-campaign-nova 514),
and then, the fading was almost stopped in the end of September
(vsnet-campaign-nova 586).
The very slow fading continued throughout the late 2001.
