SN 2001ej
A. Dimai discovered SN 2001ej at 16.5mag in the course of the
CROSS program. The position of SN 2001ej is about 4" west and 7"
north of the center of UGC 3829. UGC 3829 is a colliding pair of
galaxies, and because the colliding galaxies is often the birth
place of many massive stars, they would produce the gravitational
collapser. The magnitude at discovery is consistent if it is of
this sort, but slightly brighter than the typical examples
(vsnet-campaign-sn 241).
IAUC 7721 informed that SN 2001ej is of type Ic (or Ib) near or well
before the maximum light
(vsnet-campaign-sn 245).
