3C66A : Rapid fading in January
Since the end of 2000, this blazar continuously brightened until the
mid-January 2001 when it started rapid fading from the peak magnitude of
about 14.0
(vsnet-campaign-blazar 124,
127).
While a possible brightening to V=14.2mag was reported on Februrary 1
(vsnet-campaign-blazar 140),
the fading trend generally continued throughout the first half of the
season
(vsnet-campaign-blazar 160).
The object recovered to 14.1mag on August
(vsnet-campaign-blazar 222).
It was reported to be in a faint (14.5mag) state in December
(vsnet-campaign-blazar 239).
