3C279 : Active state since March

This blazar was reported to be fainter than 15 mag in 2001 January and February, however, on March - April, a possible brightening to 14th mag was reported ( vsnet-campaign-blazar 169, 175, 176,). Since then, we can see notable strong activities in the reported observations: T. Balonek reported it fluctuated between R = 14.04 and 13.92 during April 18 night (vsnet-campaign-blazar 181). M. Villata reported a rapidly fading from R=13.56 on April 23 to R=13.97 and 14.37 on April 24 and 26, respectively (vsnet-campaign-blazar 188). S. O'Connor reported it significantly brightened in the V-band (V=13.8) on April 29 (vsnet-campaign-blazar 189, 190). The strong activity was confirmed at least until early June ( vsnet-campaign-blazar 203).
