OY Car: Two superoutbursts of the eclipsing SU UMa star in 2000

According to R. Stubbings on February 22 (vsnet-obs 26472), the eclipsing SU UMa-type dwarf nova OY Car experienced a rare superoutburst at 12.0mag (vsnet-alert 4253). OY Car was last reported in outburst in 1999 July (mv=12.4, J. Hers and R. Stubbings). The latest reported superoutburst occurred in 1998 November (reaching mag 11.7) (vsnet-alert 4254). The shallow eclipses observed by A. Pearce indicate the maximum expansion of the accretion disk (vsnet-alert 4259). W. S. G. Walker reported observations of three eclipses and two superhumps in [vsnet-alert 4280].

R. Stubbings reported the other outburst of the eclipsing SU UMa-type dwarf nova OY Car on November 27 from 14.8mag to 13.5mag (vsnet-outburst 1006, vsnet-campaign 560). OY Car rose to full maximum, indicating it is a superoutburst (vsnet-campaign-dn 255). The rapid fading from the current outburst started around December 12 as reported by R. Stubbings and A. Pearce (vsnet-campaign 306, 310).
