Variable stars in the globular cluster M5

Averaged light curves drawn from visual observations by T. Kato, (322 estimates for M5 V42, 309 for M5 V84), distributed between 1985 June and 1990 October. The observations were done using a 10-cm and 20-cm reflectors.

The best periods have been determined from these observations as follows: 

   M5 V42 : P = 25.734 d
   M5 V84 : P = 26.708 d

The results have basically confirmed Coutts and Hogg's finding of their period changes.
