(NIFTY FSPACE

outburst of S10932

CCD observation at Ouda Station seems to show the eclipsing dwarf nova S10932 in outburst at V‾13.5 on Jan. 1.83 UT. Since we have no precise finding chart and lack of suitable GSC stars in the CCD field, independent confirmation is very strongly urged.

S10932

Preliminary analysis of CCD observations at Ouda Station confirms the outburst of S10932 accompanied by a deep eclipse. The object is ‾2.1 mag brighter in V than GSC 15.2 (12h39m24s.02 +21o14'14".8 J2000.0) outside eclipses. An eclipse was fortunately caught centered at JD (geocentric) 2450085.34935, with a depth of ‾1.3 mag and a duration of 12min. The profile of the eclipse is remarkably similar to those observed in HT Cas during the recent outburst, but with some hint of totality lasting 1-2 min.

Taichi Kato & Ouda team

(corr.) outburst + eclipse of S10932 Sorry, the eclipse center was JD 2450084.34935, not 2450085.34935. Corresponding HJD is 2450084.35030.

magnitude calibration of S10932

The following is a VERY preliminary sequence from last night's observation (VSNET chart format). Two nearby 15.2 mag GSC stars are actually by 1 mag fainter than cataloged. S10932 stays still bright tonight.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
frame DD82940 600 S10932 V
date 96 1 1.83045 (V mag)
 8271 24119 1412 0 S10932
 12920 16821 1645 0 (approx.)
 14207 3952 1622 0
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1996.01.04 01:14)

S10932 fading; eclipse times

V-band CCD observations at Ouda Station (Kyoto University) indicates that S10932 was fading rapidly on Jan. 2. An approximate magnitude outside eclipses was V=14.8 on Jan. 2.89, while the object was observed at around V=14.0 on Jan. 1.83-1.89 (magnitudes were calibrated using GO Com and AL Com secondary standards). This fact suggests that the present outburst of S10932 is a normal one, which is also supported by the lack of apparent superhumps.

Following mid-eclipse times were also obtained:

  JD 2450085.21978 (HJD 2450085.22081)
     2450085.30667 2450085.30771
The depth of the second eclipse was 3.2 mag, which is one of the deepest known among outbursting dwarf novae. The duration of eclispes were ‾10 min.

From available eclipse times (with those in IBVS 4182), we have obtained the following two candidates of improved ephemerides.

(1)
  Min.HJD = 2449486.48095 + 0.0870261 E

近着のIBVS No.4182によると、Sonneberg天文台発見のS10932(=ROSAT発見 RXJ1239.5+2108)が、深い食を示す激変星であることが判明しました。

Min.HJD = 2449486.4821 + 0.08703 E
                            +/-2
