AY Lyr is undergoing a superoutburst as indicated by the folloing observations.

Observations made on 8 Sept. 1996 UT indicate that AY Lyr is indeed in outburst.
Time-series CCD measurements made at the University of Wyoming's Red Buttes observatory, yield a magnitude for AY Lyr near 12th. This is at the brightest limit for this star, possibly indicating a superoutburst.
Further time-series observations are requested via the international TOAD watch. PLease check the homepage at: http://wapiti.uwyo.edu/toad/
Happy Observing
