Possible ALEXIS transient

(vsnet-alert 769)

The ALEXIS satellite has observed a potential transient in the 71 eV
telescope but not in the 93 ev telescope of telescope pair 1.

The light curve from this system appears to be two flare like events with
the flare maxima occuring at 17 UT 4 March, 1997 with emission continuing
until satellite contact.

The source is located at:

         RA= (06 04 43.6)
         DEC=(+32 03.3')
         (Epoch 2000)

         Error circle radius = 0.6 degrees (~90% confidence)

A quick search of Simbad reveals 52 sources within the 0.4 degree error
radius.

Follow up observations would be greatly appreciated.
