title: Heating and Cooling Protoplanetary Disks authors: Shigenobu Hirose (JAMSTEC), Neal Turner (JPL/Caltech) abstract: We examine heating and cooling in protoplanetary disks using three-dimensional radiation-MHD calculations of a patch of the Solar nebula at 1 AU, employing the shearing-box and flux-limited radiation diffusion approximations. Especially, effects of magnetic fields on dynamics and energetics in protoplanetary disks will be presented in detail. Also, their implications to observations of protoplanetary disks will be discussed.
