Title: Deep Near-Infrared Observations of Outer Disk of M83 with NICI
Author(s): T. J. Davidge (HIA)
Abstract:

We discuss deep JHK AO-corrected observations of fields in the disk of the Centaurus Group starburst galaxy M83, which were obtained with NICI on Gemini South. Observations with GALEX have found that the integrated light from the outer disk of M83 has a spectral energy distribution that is bluer than that of the inner disk. We investigate the relative age of the outer disk with respect to the main body of the disk by measuring the ratio of old to young stars at different galactocentric radii.
