Title: Stellar populations of Brightest Cluster Galaxies Author(s): Sarah Brough Abstract: Hierarchical models suggest that the most massive galaxies must have assembled their stellar mass most recently. As some of the most massive galaxies, Brightest Cluster Galaxies enable a unique test of galaxy formation models. I will present my investigations into the radial stellar population profiles of Brightest Cluster Galaxies, and how they depend on their cluster environment, using high S/N Gemini long-slit spectra. I will discuss what this tells us about their formation histories, how their formation histories differ from those of other galaxy populations and what this means for current models of galaxy evolution.
